True Detective is an anthology crime drama series that premiered in 2014 on HBO. Each season has different characters and stories.
Season 1 premiered in 2014 and stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two homicide detectives searching for a serial killer in Louisiana over the course of seventeen years.
Season 2 premiered in 2015 and stars Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn as police officers and a career criminal navigating a web of conspiracy after a corrupt city manager in California is murdered.
Season 3 premiered in 2019 and stars Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff as state police detectives from Arkansas investigating a macabre crime involving two missing children across three time periods.
