The Smith & Wesson 659 is a traditional double-action high-capacity 9x19mm caliber pistol. Stainless steel version of the blued, alloyed framed Smith & Wesson 459 and blue all-steel Smith & Wesson 559. Fourteen shot magazine, 4 inch barrel. Manufactured with both adjustable rear sights and fixed-sight. Early production models have a rounded trigger guard. Later models have the squared trigger guard. Replaced by Smith & Wesson's '3rd Generation' stainless semiautos of the 5900 Series.
