Ice Station Zebra is a 1968 Cold War thriller based on the novel of the same name written by Alistair MacLean (the spy author whose works have been adapted into films including Where Eagles Dare, The Guns of Navarone and Force 10 from Navarone). Directed by John Sturges (The Great Escape), the film focuses on the crew of the USS Tigerfish, an American nuclear submarine, which under the guise of a rescue mission is sent to the Arctic to recover a crashed Soviet spy satellite. The cast included Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine, and Patrick McGoohan.
