Smith & Wesson Model 15
Det. Lt. William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 15.
Springfield Armory 1911
A customized Springfield Armory 1911 with adjustable sights, magnaported/bushingless barrel, etc. is used by Det. David Mills (Brad Pitt).

Taurus PT92
Used by John Doe (Kevin Spacey) when Mills and Somerset go to his apartment. One of the murder victims is described as having bruises from the muzzle and front sight of Doe's pistol, which would be inaccurate as the front sight is set back from the protruding barrel of this pistol.
