RE:Flare Pistol in Soldier Boyz
Thanks, glad I could help. When I found that page it was annoying me as well, as it is clearly real with a very distinctive design, but any search I did for flare pistols just came up with more conventional military style flare guns. It wasn't until I realised it was probably a cheap civilian thing and searched for "cheap flare pistol" and it came up on the first page. --commando552 (talk) 13:09, 20 June 2014 (EDT)

Revolver ID
I was going to suggesting bringing in JCordell, but great minds think alike. Since it's an older revolver, maybe Nyles as well. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:41, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
Revolver ID
Well it's more of a guess, but I like to think of it being an educated guess. I believe it's a Manurhin MR-73 with a 5" barrel. The cylinder release latch and the design of the hammer is consistent with the MR-73. However it is the model with the adjustable rear sights. The front sight is too high for the fixed sight model. It appears that the rear sight was removed - possibly the actor kept snagging the rear sight on his clothing and other things.
It is not a Korth revolver and it lacks the ventilated top rib of the Colt Python and Colt Diamondback. When the movie was made (1983) there were five ,commercial, mass-produced revolver models with full barrel length lugs. The S&W L frame .357 magnum (586/686/581/681), Colt Python, Colt Diamondback, Korth and Manurhin MR-73. The MR-73 comes closest to matching the lines of the revolver in those screencaps. Hope this helped.--Jcordell (talk) 17:52, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
- Well right now I have to say that the revolver in "Contraband" looks like it could be a Smith & Wesson Model 27 with the 3.5" barrel. It's a large framed revolver and has lines similar to the S&W N frame. Note that in the one screencap it's obvious that the cylinder does not fill the frame like it would on a Model 29 (44 Magnum) and the forcing cone is longer - like a Model 27/28. I have to go with the 27. Give me time on the other two. --Jcordell (talk) 11:24, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
- Looks like a Smython. The barrel of a Colt Python fitted to the frame of the Smith & Wesson Model 19. This was a very popular conversion done by a few gunsmiths in the seventies and sixties. When Smith brought out the L frame models in 1980 the popularity of the Smython faded. Google and you'll find out more info. --Jcordell (talk) 01:59, 28 August 2014 (EDT)
re:Riva Esterina Black Widow
I got that date from an Italian site, but after Google translating (I speak zero Italian) it the date wasn't when it was made, but rather talking abut some journal it appeared in in 1982 (I think). I'm not quite sure what this site is or what it is talking about, but it is one of the only sites on the web that even mentions this gun. --commando552 (talk) 12:16, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Hi Greg, thanks for your compliments. It is good to see that somebody shares my interest in these movies. Long weapon
I hear it a first time. This is nowhere so - just look at all other movies! Mívaj and 325 revolvers, some submachine guns - 375 (short), 500 long guns, etc! It looks even better as rifle 400px a width so there I do not see anything :) Where it here 300 and 400?!? - http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Pulp_Fiction#Remington_870
or where - http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Predator
and this is long or short? - http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=Predator&action=edit§ion=16
and here is was? - http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Commando
or here - http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Rambo_III
and 100, 500, 1000 others ...
O.K. but to be about as hard to fix something for the hundreds of films on this web, it is too late, it would have to have been at the outset somehow identify. And pictures of weapons are different - there are oblong shape, in others squares etc. I did the approximate proportionality. I give 400 for smg, 300 pistols, 450 rifles or machine guns and 500 when they are belonging bayonet or silencer. But still I do not know how to determine the size Bazookas and rocket launchers and similar weapons. --Pandolfini (talk) 14:12, 17 August 2015 (EDT)

OK. If it's in the rules, but so until the next time. In retrospect hardly repaired hundreds of movies. So long as freedom, so let's do it as yet. I think that long guns should have also long preview, logically, is not it?:)--Pandolfini (talk) 11:22, 18 August 2015 (EDT)

Hi Greg, thanks for the action. Please keep the images somewhere, it's not much disc space I guess. The guy who created the original page did a pretty bad job (e.g. missing several rifles and mixing up revolvers) but looking at his history, I don't think he is active on IMFDB anymore. I'm sorry, but I don't know - should add to the future page Narkomovskiy oboz data, that director Vlad Furman also directed TV series Terrorist Ivanova (Terroristka Ivanova)? Pyramid Silent (talk) 16:26, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Lost images
Thank you for pointing those out, I guess I just forgot about them. If you see any more like that, please let me know. --Funkychinaman (talk) 07:43, 30 December 2015 (EST)
- Oh boy. Okay, I'll have to go through them. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:56, 30 December 2015 (EST)
- Some of these appear to be placeholder actor images that have since been replaced by better ones. I'll delete whatever I don't use. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:01, 30 December 2015 (EST)
- Hi Greg, first of all I am wishing you a happy new year! You're right about the 3 files for On Wings of Eagles, I uploaded but forgot to add on the page. Seems you're right about the SMG's being 'Mexican' custom M3/M3A1's rather than S&W M76's. I uploaded renamed images, can you please delete the following (wrong) originals: "OnWingsOfEagles-SmithWessonM76-03.jpg", "OnWingsOfEagles-SmithWessonM76-05.jpg" and "OnWingsOfEagles-SmithWessonM76-07.jpg". Spasibo! - PeeWee055 (talk) 12:54, 8 January 2016 (EST)

Hi Greg, your use of "Ik ben blij om u te helpen!" was correct, but "u" is Dutch for "you" in a sensed that you use it with teachers, parents and older people. Maybe I am older (haha) but for next time, please use "je" which is also Dutch for "you" but more informal and used by friends and colleagues. Have a good weekend, PeeWee055 (talk) 03:09, 15 January 2016 (EST)
