Hondo is a 1953 Western starring John Wayne as a stranger who befriends a homestead wife and her son and then finds himself defending them from Apache raids. The film was adapted from a short story by Louis L'Amour, who would later write the novelization for the movie. Several of the film's battle scenes were directed by an uncredited John Ford.

Winchester 1892
As in a great many of John Wayne Western films, the Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine with large lever loop is the rifle used by Hondo Lane (John Wayne).
Sharps 1863 Saddle Ring Carbine
The Sharps Saddle Ring carbine appears to be the firearm carried by members of the US Cavalry in the film.
Springfield 1861
One US Cavalry soldier is armed with a Springfield 1861.
