Welcome to IMFDB
Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban.
There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.
Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. If you would like to join the forum, please post HERE and an account will be created for you.
Now, HAPPY EDITING! bunni (talk) 15:29, 11 September 2013 (EDT)
Sortable tables
Please hold off on modifying the tables, at least for now. I'm not sure that would be compatible with rowspans. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:54, 19 February 2015 (EST)

Idk what you really mean, it appears to work fine here. It doesn't group them together when they're sorted, but they stay that way by default, and it simply duplicates entries when they are separated by sorting.
What exactly is supposed to be the precedent for tables when multiple characters in a single film use the same weapon? Should you use rowspan or not? I spent a lot of time merging the entries in the 1903 article but that was also reverted by you in addition to the table change. I'm putting back the addition but I'm leaving the multi character entries as is until someone specifies if rowspan should be used. S3anyBoy (talk) 17:41, 19 February 2015 (EST)
- I hadn't noticed, I'm sorry. Personally, I would prefer sortable tables, but that's not up to me. As for rowspan or not, I'm not sure if there's a set policy. --Funkychinaman (talk) 17:55, 19 February 2015 (EST)
Alright, thanks S3anyBoy (talk) 18:33, 19 February 2015 (EST)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Sorting#Tables_with_complex_datarows
"Tables can have cells spanning multiple rows, using |rowspan=n. (See Help:rowspan).
The number of rows must be indicated with each use of rowspan. Before any sorting can be done, the rowspan setup must be correct. An incorrect rowspan organisation breaks sorting option, leaving incorrect data. In a sortable table, |rowspan=n and colspan=m can not be combined in the body of a table."
So as long as the table uses only rowspan and not rowspan and colspan together it can be sortable without issue. S3anyBoy (talk) 16:48, 20 February 2015 (EST)
No...
I'm not stopping you having an opinion, I'm saying this is not the place for publicising it. There are plenty of political forums if you wish to debate whether Che was a bad guy or America is mean. I used to moderate one of them, and I do not intend for that to happen to me again. Evil Tim (talk) 22:11, 20 February 2015 (EST)
So what is allowed on my talk page?
"Communism will win" or "#fullcommunism" okay with you my holy Czar? S3anyBoy (talk) 22:20, 20 February 2015 (EST)
- Well, I'd rather you avoided politics. Or, you know, had some fun with it. If you want to stick a red star banner up there and declare yourself vice-commissar of the people's edit I won't stop you, I just don't want people with user pages that are clearly trying to wind people up and cause discussions we'd rather people not have on our little patch of the internet. Evil Tim (talk) 22:33, 20 February 2015 (EST)
- Look, no one give a crap, so take a down a notch. Save your coffee shop revolutionary rhetoric for a political forum. --Funkychinaman (talk) 22:34, 20 February 2015 (EST)
If no one gives a crap why do you keep removing it from my talk page? Just leave it up. S3anyBoy (talk) 22:37, 20 February 2015 (EST)
- When an administrator removes something from your page, it is something that is deemed inappropriate. When more than one adminstrator has had to give you comments about it, I would strongly suggest you leave off what was removed if you would wish to continue to contribute to the site. I would suggest that you take a look at the Rules, Standards and Principles, particularly the Principles. --Ben41 (talk) 00:02, 21 February 2015 (EST)
Request for contact over e-mail
This website has a feature that lets users contact one another via e-mail without making any addresses public, but I'd like to ask your permission first. I'd like to talk to you about a couple things you mentioned to me earlier if it's not a problem. --Mazryonh (talk) 21:20, 2 March 2015 (EST)
Yea it's fine. S3anyBoy (talk) 21:22, 2 March 2015 (EST)
