The Manurhin MR-73 has been seen in the following movies:
Specifications
(1973 - Present)
Type: Revolver
Caliber: .357 Magnum, 9mm Luger
Capacity: Six cartridges
Fire Modes: Double Action/Single Action
Characteristics
A solid-frame,swing out cylinder, double action revolver. The barrel is cold-hammered, which is unusual for a revolver, and makes for a very strong and high quality weapon. It also makes for a more expensive weapon. There is the usual flat mainspring operating the hammer, but there is a separate flatspring controlling the trigger. This second spring operates on a roller to decrease friction, moves the trigger forward after firing, and moves up the safety block to prevent the hammer's nose from inadvertently setting off a round. The end result is a very smooth and consistent trigger which aids the shooter tremendously. The MR-73 is also capable of shooting 9mm Parabellum by exchanging cylinders. The MR-73 is a high quality and expensive revolver. They are fairly scarce in the United States.
