Lone Survivor is an upcoming 2013 war drama directed by Peter Berg (Battleship). Based on the best-selling book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by former U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as Luttrell, who was a member of an ill-fated SEAL reconnaissance team that was ambushed in the mountains of northeastern Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings on June 28, 2005. The film also stars Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana, and is set for a limited release on December 27, 2013 with a wider release on January 14, 2014.

Mk. 12 Mod 1 SPR
Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) and Matthew Axelson (Ben Foster) are both armed with the Mk. 12 Mod 1 Special Purpose Rifle. Luttrell's rifle features a solid stock while Axelson's has a collapsible stock, but both rifles have suppressors, Harris bipods, AN/PEQ-2 IR designators and Leupold MR/T scopes.
AKM
Most of the Taliban militants who attack the SEAL recon team are armed with AKM rifles. Mohammed Gulab (Ali Suliman) later uses an AKM while protecting Luttrell.
