Smith & Wesson M76
Henry Camerero (Albert Paulsen) appears to be armed with a Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun that has the barrel shroud removed.Later in the movie the investigating detectives learn that a local Hells Angel member sold na M3A1 Grease Gun to a male subject. It stands to reason that the production was unable to obtain an M3 "Grease Gun" so the S&W Model 76 stood in for one. Smith & Wesson Model 15 Snub
SFPD Detective Sergeant Jake Martin (Walter Matthau) and Inspector Leo Larsen (Bruce Dern) are seen carrying the Smith & Wesson Model 15 Snub as their sidearm in the film.

A barricaded shooter uses an M16A1. SFPD SWAT officers are also armed with the rifle.

A SWAT sergeant is seen armed with the M1928A1 Thompson.
