The Thin Man was filmed in 1934 about retired detective Nick Charles played by William Powell and his wife Nora Charles played by Myrna Loy as they attempt to settle down when Nick is contacted by Dorothy Wyant daughter of his friend Clyde Wyant who has disappeared. Clyde Wyant's former girlfriend is found dead and Clyde becomes the number one suspect. Dorothy believing her dad's innocence convinces Nick to take the case to prove her dad did not kill Julia. The mystery deepens as more bodies turn up and more people become suspects. Then Nick Charles in his own intoxicated way pieces the puzzle together and reveals the murderer at a diner party attended by all the suspect.
