Boomtown was a television police crime drama set in Los Angeles that aired on NBC for two seasons from 2002-2003. Each episode of the series showed the circumstances of a particular crime from several different points of view that included the cops, criminals, witnesses, and the lawyers. The series, whose cast included Donnie Wahlberg, Mykelti Williamson, and Neal McDonough, was created by Graham Yost, a writer whose credits include Speed, Band of Brothers, The Pacific and who subsequently created the series Justified.
The following weapons were used in the television series Boomtown:
The standard sidearm of the LAPD at the time was the Beretta 92FS and was mainly seen used in the series by LAPD Officer Ray Hechler (Gary Basaraba) and Officer Tom Turcotte (Jason Gedrick).
In Season 1's "Insured by Smith & Wesson", former action star Les Van Buren (Joe Penny) is loading a Smith & Wesson Model 60. Later in the episode, Officer Hechler is seen holding it.
A home invasion suspect is seen carrying a Remington 870 with a sawed barrel and stock, which is later used by Henry Stein (Joe Spano) in Season 1's "Home Invasion".
Russian mobsters are armed with AKMSUs when they come to the hotel to take out Fearless and a female witness in Season 1's "The Freak".
