Lucky Luke is a 2009 adaptation of the Belgian comic book of the same name directed by James Huth starring Jean Dujardin as the title character. Being an adaptation of a comic book, the film does not take itself seriously, with exaggerated characters and scenarios, and even a talking horse. Despite being set in Utah, the film was shot in Argentina.
The following weapons were used in the film Lucky Luke (2009):
Handguns
Single Action Army
John "Lucky" Luke (Jean Dujardin) uses an engraved, nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army with custom grips as his main sidearm throughout the film. Many other characters use it as well.
Remington 1866 Derringer
Remington 1866 Derringer is main sidearm of Billy the Kid (Michaël Youn). In many scenes, his derringers switch with small shrouded automatic pistols.
Remington 1858 New Army
Jesse James (Melvil Poupaud) carries a Remington 1858 New Army as his main sidearm throughout the film.
Colt 1851 Navy is sidearm of Pat Poker (Daniel Prévost). Various other characters are seen carrying it as well. In a continuity error, Jesse James' Remington 1858 turns into a Colt 1851 Navy with an equally long barrel.
Colt Dragoon
Near the end of the film, Coop (Jean-François Balmer) is seen with a Colt Dragoon.
Colt Paterson 1836
Phil Defer (Claudio Weppler) carries a Colt Paterson 1836. At least one other thug carries one as well.
Colt 1849 Pocket
At least one thug is seen carrying a Colt 1849 Pocket.
Colt 1860 Army
Thugs are seen carrying Colt 1860 Army revolvers.
Colt 1851 "U.S. Marshal"
A few thugs are seen with Colt 1851 "U.S. Marshal" revolvers.
Shotguns
Hybrid Lever-action Rifle/Double Barreled Shotgun
Calamity Jane (Sylvie Testud) carries a custom hybrid lever-action rifle/double barreled shotgun. The frame and shoulder stock appear to come from a Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy", but with twin shotgun barrels.
Rossi Overland
Calamity Jane also carries what appears to be a Rossi Overland as a sidearm.
Blunderbuss
Blunderbusses are carried by thugs in Daisy Town.
Rifles/Carbines
Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy"
Many characters are seen with Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy"s.
Remington 1858 ("Cattleman's Carbine")
Pat Poker's henchmen are all armed with Remington 1858 ("Cattleman's Carbine")s.
Trivia
Since this movie is based on a comic, there are certain absurdities regarding guns.
Bullet sizes
In one scene, Billy fires two rounds from his small automatic at Luke, who returns fire, only to discover that Luke only fired to intercept his rounds.
Shell casings
Shell casings are seen piling up behind Jesse and Billy as they fire on some thugs. Jesse and Billy are using a Remington 1858 New Army and Remington 1866 Derringer, respectively, which don't eject shell casings while firing.
Initials
Luke fires to intercept another bullet again in the end, and the entire round, complete with Luke's initials on the shell casing, is seen exiting the barrel.
