Geobreeders (1998) and Geobreeders: Breakthrough (2000) are two OVA series based on Akihiro Ito's on-going manga of the same name. The story depicts members of Kagura Total Security as they fight against the Phantom Cats. Kagura's main business rival is the Hound, a secret government paramilitary organization under the control of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (since pest and animal control are part of the Ministry's mandates).
Phantom Cats are mystical beings capable of taking both human and feline forms as well as manipulating all form of electronic signals. This ability makes the cats master of information manipulation. Physical attack against the cats in human form will not permanently harm them as the cats have the ability to regenerate in human form. The Hound's equipped with special EM field generators that, when deployed, can neutralized Phantom Cats' abilities such as regeneration or escape through telephone lines. In order to eradicate them, Cats needs to be "sealed" using specially designed tags or other devices.
The OVA storylines are considered canon and are incorporated into the main manga story.
The following weapons are seen in the anime Geobreeders and it's sequel Geobreeders: Breakthrough
Handguns

A pair of Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer pistols are Kagura member Maki Umezaki's weapons of choice. Umezaki (who calls herself the Crimson Shooting Star) is usually seen firing them akimbo.
.
Browning Hi-Power
In Geobreeder: Breakthrough, Umezaki's rival (who calls herself the Indigo Shooting Star) uses a pair of heavily customized Browning Hi-Power pistols as her sidearms.

Beretta 92F
Some of the assassins attempting to kill Irie are armed with Beretta 92F pistols.
Makarov PM
Alberto, the leader of the rogue Phantom Cats in Breakthrough, used a Makarov PM when he held Narusawa hostage.
Colt Detective Special
Narusawa uses a 3rd Generation Colt Detective Special as her sidearm when preforming an undercover investigation.
Smith & Wesson Model 60
Two Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolvers were used by Umezaki and Indigo Shooting Star during their final failed duel attempt.
Shotguns
