The following guns are used in the television show Flashpoint
Warning: Some descriptions contain spoilers. Information is destined to change and add on as the show progresses.
Remington 700PSS
Snipers Ed Lane, Juliana, and Sam Braddock use Remington 700PSS rifles chambered in .308 caliber(Despite their stock slung ammo being .30-06) and they are fitted with scopes with false reticules.
Luger P08
The hostage taker in the first episode shoots a woman in the back with a Luger P08 and holds another woman at gunpoint with it before being shot by Ed Lane's sniper rifle.
H&K MP5A3
Sgt. Gregory Parker regularly has two or more officers armed with H&K MP5A3s with tri-rails and forward grips at his side. Several other officers use them as well.
Glock 22
Juliana pulls her issued Glock 22 sidearm on Sam Braddock after he comments on her Remington 700 and reaches into his coat, making her think he is drawing a gun. An officer draws his Glock on the deranged man in the pilot episode, when he first takes a woman hostage. Sam Braddock also uses one in the second episode for an automated CQB test.
C8 Carbine
Several officers hold C8 rifles as standard issue weapons. Juliana holds one in the second episode to watch over a father with a gun in the hospital. It is fitted with a red-dot site but when she looks through it, it incorrectly has a sniper reticule instead.
- Al Vrkljan tells me that Diemaco/Colt Canada does not sell its weapons to civilian companies, including his own company Movie Armaments Group, which supplied the weapons for this show. You can read our discussion, here and here.
- Meaning this isn't a C8 carbine? I listed it as an M4A1 rifle. What are the diffrences between the two? If it isn't a C8, should I switch it to M4A1?
- No, it's not a C8, because Al Vrkljan says that all of the AR-type rifles in MAG's inventory are of American manufacture. So yes, it's actually an M4.
- However if were speaking about the weapon in the show and not the company that supplies the props, then it would be a C-8 Rifle due to the fact that Canadian Law Enforcement Agencies (like the one portrayed in the show) utilize the C-8 Rifle in day to day duties.
- Right, but here on IMFDB, we're usually more interested in analyzing what those props are in reality, not what they're supposed to be. For instance, the "AK-74s" in the film Goldeneye aren't actually real AK-74s, so we refer to them as what they are (they're actually 7.62x39mm Chinese Type 56 AKs dressed up to look like -74s). Likewise, Black Hawk Down features FN Minimis that are supposed to be M249s, the U.S. service version, but we not that.
- I think the best thing to do would be to refer to this gun as what it really is - an M4 - but explain that in real life, Canadian SWAT teams would probably be using the C8.
- Thanks for clearing that up, I have no objections to reverting it back to the M4.
Smith and Wesson Model 39
When a man becomes enraged that his daughter can't get a new heart, he draws a Smith and Wesson Model 39 off a hospital guard (which is strange because the model 39 isn't issued anymore) and begins a standoff. He accidentally scores a non-fatal shot on an officer after less lethal is ordered to stop him when he reveals the safety is on, and then turns it off and hits an officers vest.
Taurus Judge .410/.45 LC
In the 3rd episode dialogue, this revolver Kennon carried is called the "Jury", street name. "Takes 5 rounds, shotgun, single bore." Exact lines. It is actually a Taurus Judge firing the very slim .410 shotgun round and can also except .45 LC rounds.
Smith & Wesson 4506
In the 4th episode, this gun was used by the outraged woman.
C.A.W 40mm Revolving Launcher
The 6 shot 40 mm C.A.W. rotarary grenade launcher for Law enforcement first seen in episode 4 is used by Sam Braddock. Wasn't fired.
