- Directors: Ken Annakin, Bernhard Wicki, Gerd Oswald, Darryl F. Zanuck
The following guns were used in the movie The Longest Day:
Mauser K98k Rifle
Most of the German soldiers are equipped with Mauser K98k Rifle. In one scene, a soldier uses the bolt on the rifle to imitate the sound the "clickers" issued to the Americans make. This causes the soldier using his clicker to run out and get shot by the waiting German.
Sten MkII SMG
A Sten MkV is also briefly seen when French Commandos attempt to contact tank support.
Chatellerault M1924/29 Light Machine Gun
A captured M1924/29 machine gun is wielded by a German Soldier.
Browning M2 Quad Mount
Or maybe it's a 20mm flak-vierling, but I'm not sure. The .50 would be easier to get, but it would be anachronistic for Germans to be using an American machine gun.
- it's an M45 Madison mount if I'm not mistaken as I'm away from my books. That is four M2HB machine guns with "Tombstone" ammunition boxes on a mechanical mount linked to one trigger for 2,000RPM.Rockwolf66 22:51, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Luger P08 Pistol
M1 Carbine
MG42 Light Machine Gun
M1 Thompson
Most Paratroopers are seen armed with the M1 Thompson. Some other Soldiers can be seen with Thompson.
M20 Super Bazooka
Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer
Bren Mark 1 Light Machine Gun
Browning Automatic Rifle
MP40
No.4 Mark I Enfield Rifle
Maxim MG08
PIAT
