The Pelican Brief is a 1993 thriller based on the John Grisham bestseller and stars Julia Roberts as Darby Shaw, a young law student whose legal brief speculating on who was behind the assassination of two Supreme Court Justices puts her life in danger. Denzel Washington co-stars as Gray Grantham, a Washington D.C. newspaper reporter who helps Darby expose the conspiracy. The film was helmed by Alan J. Pakula, the director of such "paranoia" thrillers as The Parallax View, All the President's Men and Klute.

The female assassin (Eliza Coleman) that chases Grantham and Darby Shaw (Julia Roberts) in the parking garage carries a Smith & Wesson 5906 (the male assassin is played by Coleman's husband Doug).
Heckler & Koch P9S
The male assassin (Doug Coleman) who chases Grantham and Shaw in the parking garage carries a Heckler & Koch P9S (the female assassin is played by Coleman's wife, Eliza).
Beretta 21A Bobcat
A Beretta 21A Bobcat fitted with a suppressor appears to be the weapon used by the assassin Khamel (Stanley Tucci) when he is seen with Darby.
Protest Signs
A gun rights rally is seen in front of the White House where many demonstrators are seen carrying signs that display a giant photo of a handgun resembling the Beretta 92FS. Other toy guns are seen on the signs as well.
