AVL (AV stands for "Armeyskaya Vintovka" ("Army-style rifle" as opposite to small caliber target rifles), L stands for "Los") is a target rifle, based on Los and chambered for 7.62x54mmR "Extra". It was manufactured in 1972-1978 and used on shooting contests, including Olympic Games, until the rules changed and rifles were limited to small caliber only.
