The Seventeenth Transatlantic (a direct translation of original title Semnadtsatyy transatlanticheskiy) is a 1972 Soviet war drama directed by Vladimir Dovgan and depicting the tragical story of PQ-17 Arctic convoy in July 1942. The main characters are crewmembers of Soviet steamer Kuzbass.
The following weapons were used in the film The Seventeenth Transatlantic (Semnadtsatyy transatlanticheskiy):
Pistols
Walther PPK
Royal Navy Lt. Mitchell (Valeri Babyatinsky), liaison-officer on Kuzbass, has a Walther PPK pistol. This is the early model of PPK.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
A group of Soviet sailors carry Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles with bayonets in the scene in port of Arkhangelsk.
Machine Guns and Autocannons
KPV Heavy Machine Gun
A twin KPV heavy machine gun in 2M-7 over and under mounting is mounted on the bridge of Kuzbass. This is post-war weapon, anachronistic for 1942. In several scenes it is manned by various sailors, including Semyachkin (Borislav Brondukov), ship's cook (Aleksey Kozhevnikov) and Lt. Mitchell (Valeri Babyatinsky).
37mm 70-K Autocannon
Three 37-mm 70-K autocannons are mounted on British escort ship. The ship is a genuine war-time AM-class minesweeper.
Other Weapons
