Narcos is a Netflix original crime drama series that follows the rise and fall of notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura). While based on actual events, several composite characters and incidents were created for dramatic purposes. The series was created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, and the initial two episodes of the first season were directed by executive producer José Padilha (Elite Squad and 2014's RoboCop). All episodes of the first season were released on August 28, 2015, on Netflix and the second season premiered on September 2, 2016.
