Tom Hanks is an American actor/director/producer who was previously known for his comedic roles in such films as ''[[Dragnet (1987)]]'' and ''[[Turner & Hooch]]'' before his Academy Award-winning dramatic turns in the films ''Philadelphia'' and ''[[Forrest Gump]]''.  In addition to his extensive acting career, Hanks also has directed several films and produced the Emmy Award-winning HBO miniseries ''[[Band of Brothers]]'' and ''[[The Pacific]]''.  He also is the father of actor [[Colin Hanks]].
