Samozaryadnyy Okhotnichiy Karabin, obrazets 1994 (Self-loading Hunting Carbine, model 1994) Vepr ("Wild Boar") is a series of Russian semi auto hunting rifles based on RPK light machine gun and produced by "Molot" from 1994.
The Vepr I was based on the RPK and had a heavier receiver and a bull barrel than the AK rifles. It also had an adjustable rear sight that could be dialed from 50 to 1,000 meters.
The Vepr II was an improved version created for Wolf Performance Arms. It had a phosphated finish, higher-quality machining, and a redesigned spring-loaded firing pin. It also had redesigned notch-and-post iron sights. The hooded blade front sight was moved from the end of the barrel to in front of the gas block and the notch rear sight at the front of the receiver was a flip-up version calibrated for either 100 or 300 meters.
The American government has placed a ban on their importation from July, 2014 due to the political situation with Russia.
