Anthony Perkins (April 4, 1932 – September 12, 1992) was an American actor best known for portrayal of Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1960 film Psycho as well as in three sequels. From 1953 to 1992, he appeared in more the 55 movies and TV series. For his role in Friendly Persuasion (1956), Perkins was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Anthony Perkins died on September 12, 1992, from complications of AIDS.
