Maniac Cop is a 1988 horror film that stars Robert Z'Dar as framed former cop Matt Cordell, who is resurrected from the dead to kill those who framed him for taking bribes and sending him to Sing Sing to die. The film was directed by William Lustig and the cast includes Tom Atkins, Bruce Campbell, and Laurene Landon. The film would spawn two sequels: 1990's Maniac Cop 2, 1993's Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence, and a prequel is in development.
