:::::There are a few animation pages that were made before we tightened up the rules as to what was acceptable, however if there is a non-anime animation that you think is eligible for inclusion then feel free to post some caps on your user page and start a topic in either the forum or the main discussion page to check that it is ok. As to whether this is eligible I go back and forth on it, but I am inclined to allow it. Firstly, the previous version were deleted not only on eligibility grounds but also because they were pretty much no-effort pages, and at least this version is complete (as far as I can remember). Also, I believe these weapons were actually made by the production company rather than just being taken from GI Joes or Hot Toys. The scale they used for the puppets was a 1:3, and although the weapons do tend to look small in the puppets hands, they are nowhere near as small as they would be if they used the 1:6 scale that you get on toys. I'm of the opinion that somebody may watch this movie and wonder what the weapons were so I think it would be good if we had a page for it. Also, it isn't like puppet films are becoming the norm and we really need to worry about setting a precedent. However I don't think it should be listed on any of the gun pages, as it would have to go under the normal film section as it isn't animated and yet there are no actual guns used in the film so to list it as such would be misleading.  --commando552 (talk) 20:54, 20 October 2013 (EDT)

Team America: World Police is a 2004 action movie about the elite counter-terrorism organization Team America: World Police. They are tasked to deal with a conspiracy between North Korean leader Kim Jong Il and a group of idealistic American actors to destroy Western civilisation with weapons of mass destruction hidden all over the world.

This movie being marionet-animated, all firearms used are purpose-build plastic props. However, the creators seem to have been inspired by real-life firearms used in popular action movies so most weapons used have a good degree of details. For this reason, when a certain gun is described below as e.g. ‘M16’ is should be read ‘inspired by M16’.

Auto-Ordnance M1911A1
Members of Team America use a M1911A1-type pistol with target sights as their secondary weapon. It is also seen handled by “Kim Jong Il” and Spottswoode, the leader of Team America. It is probably an Auto-Ordnance M1911A1 due to the slanted grooves on the slide.

Heckler & Koch MP5A5
The Heckler & Koch MP5A5 is the main weapon of choice for the American actors during the final shoot-out at the peace conference at Kim Jong Il’s palace.

Heckler & Koch MP5KA4
Gary is armed with a pair of Heckler & Koch MP5KA4’s, mounted in shoulder holsters. Most of the time, he is seen dual-wielding them with deadly efficiency, not bad for somebody who just learned to shoot a few days earlier…

Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
During the opening scene in Paris, Carson carries a Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW with stainless steel navy suppressor and some kind of scope. It also looks like he has two magazines taped together ‘jungle style’.

Blaser R93 Tactical
Lisa carries a Blaser R93 Tactical sniper rifle but she’s never seen firing it. This rifle is equipped with a 10-shot magazine and the distinct muzzle break of its successor the Blaser R93 LRS2.

Chinese SKS
Several terrorists are seen carrying the Chinese SKS rifle. One of the differences that set it apart from the original Russian model is the spike-bayonet that is clearly seen in below screenshots.

Zastava M76
In the scene at the terrorist hide-out in Egypt, one terrorist is seen with a Zastava M76 on his back. The rifle can be identified by the long barrel and the massive wooden hand guard with three vent holes.

AIM
During the opening shoot-out in Paris, one terrorist is seen armed with an AIM assault rifle, easily recognizable by the wooden vertical foregrip under the handguard.

AIMR
An unlucky terrorist during the Paris mission handles an AIMR, recognizable by the stubby front section with shortened barrel plus the front sight being attached to the gas pipe.

AKM
The AKM is seen handled in many scenes by members of all sides, most prominently by guards in Kim Jong Il’s palace and in one notable scene, by Kim Jong Il himself.

AKMS
Throughout the movie, most terrorists carry an AKMS as their weapon of choice. Both the regular version, as well as the version with shortened barrel is seen used.

M136 AT4
Can anybody recommend how I can get rid of the annoying and mysterious |} on top of the movie page? It's not in the coding so I am at a loss where it comes from. If you know, please don't just remove it but let me know so that I can understand where this comes from. During the mission in Paris, Joe uses a recoilless launcher that is based on the M136 AT4 launcher. It is fitted with Hollywood embellishments such as a pistol grip and a magazine with additional rockets (…).

I would advise this page be deleted

The weapons are not even actual weapons, and are more like plastic/rubber toys. - User:1morey January 18, 2013 9:05 PM (EST) We've deleted this page multiple times as there are no actual weapon in the film. Plus quite a few of thos "weapons" are not based on real fireams but stuff taken from GI Joe sized dolls.Rockwolf66 (talk) 21:39, 18 January 2013 (EST)

It's gone.--Jcordell (talk) 23:59, 18 January 2013 (EST)

Eligibility

I've put up a poll in a new thread in the admin only section of the forum. --Funkychinaman (talk) 21:23, 19 October 2013 (EDT)

I don't have that kinda access, so I'm just going to drop my opinion here. I think it should be allowed. There is a lot of anime shows and movies here which obviously don't have any real guns either, and in some cases are less detailed.--Crazycrankle (talk) 00:04, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
For a number of years now I have come to appreciate IMFDB and the collective wisdom of all contributors. However, this is the first time I am somewhat unpleasantly surprised. Without checking with me first, my page for Team America is deleted within a matters of hours, even though I created it with the best intentions and (as far as I understand) respecting IMFDB guidelines. Yes, some weapons are probably taken from GI Joe toy dolls, but some have just too many details to refer to as just toys and seem to be purposely build for this movie. I totally agree that the guns on this page are subject to debate, but hey, so are most anime pages. Just look at the anime pages with mostly fantasy weapons that can be found on IMFDB... Anyway, I was hoping that my 'disclaimer' in the header would be enough to avoid debate, but unfortunately it was not. I very much appreciate the admin discussion and I will respect its outcome, PeeWee055 (talk) 06:57, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
Like I pointed out, if you had used the proper title, you would've seen that the page was locked. That should've been a heads up. We'll know in about a week. --Funkychinaman (talk) 11:05, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
I vote it stays up. IMFDB is rather inconsistent when it comes to whether cartoons or the like can have pages. Some have generic "guns", but some have detailed ones and don't fit under anime.Temp89 (talk) 16:00, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
There are a few animation pages that were made before we tightened up the rules as to what was acceptable, however if there is a non-anime animation that you think is eligible for inclusion then feel free to post some caps on your user page and start a topic in either the forum or the main discussion page to check that it is ok.

Recreation of this page

I just learned that IMFDB administrators have voted in favour of this page. For this reason, I have recreated it and will finish it shortly, with the best intebtions and IMFDB guidelines in mind. Thanks for all the reactions in the last few days, PeeWee055 (talk) 09:37, 27 October 2013 (EDT)

Getting rid of characters on top of page

Can anybody recommend how I can get rid of the annoying and mysterious '|}' on top of the movie page? It's not in the coding so I am at a loss where it comes from. If you know, please don't just remove it but let me know so that I can understand where this comes from. Thanks in advance, PeeWee055 (talk) 17:03, 27 October 2013 (EDT)

Whoops, it must be the new template. I created a new infobox template that didn't have the cast listings for this. I'll have to tweak it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:14, 27 October 2013 (EDT)
There we go. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:16, 27 October 2013 (EDT)
