Ernest Borgnine (born Ermes Effron Borgnino January 24, 1917 – July 8, 2012) was an Oscar winning actor (Best Actor for Marty 1955) and was well known to television audiences for his roles as Lt. Cmdr Quentin McHale in the series McHale's Navy and Dominic Santini in the series Airwolf. Borgnine served twice in the United States Navy (1935-1941, 1942-1945).
