The ZU-23-2, also known as ZU-23, is a Soviet towed 23 mm anti-aircraft twin autocannon. ZU stands for Zenitnaya Ustanovka - anti-aircraft mount. The weapons are also seen quad-mounted in the ZSU-23-4 Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (though some western films will use various machine guns such as the Browning M2 to stand in for these weapons, while some museum piece ZSUs are known to have painted broomsticks as guns).
