Weapons are most easily obtained from the Panauan Military, which are present throughout the islands. Rico can carry a total of three weapons at a time - two smaller weapons which are strapped to his thighs, and one larger 'heavy' weapon slung over his back. The smaller weapons can be dual-wielded. All the weapons and vehicles can be upgraded over the course of the game using upgrade points found in the game world, or earned by completing missions.

The Desert Eagle appears as the "Pistol". It can be identified as the Mark VII by the safety lever and its lack of scope rails as featured on the Mark XIX. The true caliber cannot be determined: the real Desert Eagle holds 9 rounds in .357 Magnum, 8 in .44 Magnum and 7 in .50 AE, while the in-game version starts out with a 12 round magazine, and can eventually be upgraded to a completely ridiculous 24.

==Smith & Wesson Model 500==
The "Revolver" is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 500, but the in-game model has some incorrect features, including the cylinder latch being too low, a barrel seemingly based on Taurus Tracker revolvers, no compensator ports, and finally it is modeled with a 6-round cylinder instead of a 5-round one. As per video game logic, this last fact means that the in-game weapon starts with a 7-round capacity, and gains one extra round per upgrade until it holds 12 at a time.

=="Rico's Signature Gun"==
The "Holdt R4 Pitbull" as used in the first Just Cause, where it was, as befitting its name here, the standard weapon Rico always had access to. Like in the first game, it is a revolver somewhat resembling the Taurus Raging Bull fitted with what appear to be pearl grips and a tiny, M203-like underbarrel grenade launcher which the player cannot use. Added via DLC, and like the other DLC weapons it must be purchased from the arms dealer to be acquired or replenished, on top of not having the infinite reserve ammo it had in the original game, but in return it starts at its max level and deals better damage than it did originally.

The FAMAE SAF is dubbed the "Submachine Gun" in-game, starting with a 30-round capacity and able to reach 40 at its max level. It is somewhat common in the hands of low-level Panauan soldiers, a little behind the Desert Eagle and a little ahead of the shorty double-barreled shotgun; while they use the weapon in a two-handed grip, Rico fires it with one hand, allowing it to be mixed-and-matched with a second SAF or another one-handed weapon. Since Rico wouldn't use it anyway, it is modeled without any sort of stock attached, Panauan soldiers forced to fire it from the hip.

== Colt M4A1 | ==Colt M4A1==
An M4-like carbine appears in-game as the "Assault Rifle". The magazine capacity can be gradually upgraded from 20 to 30 rounds across 6 levels. The in-game version lacks a carry handle, has a free floating handguard and a tubular metal buttstock with cheek rest; it is not entirely clear if the buttstock incorporates the buffer tube or if the rifle is designed after an M4-like gas piston rifle or airsoft gun without a buffer tube. The stock's shape and the weapon's lack of a carry handle make it superficially resemble the Brazilian IMBEL MD-2, a 5.56mm copy of the FN FAL.

A [[ | A DLC weapon, the Bull's Eye features a scope for increased long-range effectiveness, and is restricted to semi-automatic fire. The weapon model appears to simply be the M4 model with "futuristic" embellishments added over the top of it, seemingly with the goal of making it (very slightly) resemble a Heckler & Koch XM8. Like the other DLC weapons, it must be purchased from the arms dealer to gain access to, and it cannot be upgraded, but starts with higher power than the regular M4.

==PSL Sniper Rifle== | |||
A PSL Sniper Rifle with modified shoulder stock and synthetic foregrip appears as the "Sniper Rifle". It starts with a rather low capacity of four rounds per magazine, gradually increasing per upgrade to 9 rounds; in turn, it is incredibly powerful, able to one-shot low-level Panauan guards even without upgrades and able to do the same to Elites with a headshot and/or at the maximum level. Interestingly, enemy snipers are frequently seen using this weapon in conjunction with laser aiming modules, despite no such device being present on the weapon; this is obviously a gameplay convention to make such an insanely powerful weapon in the hands of hostile NPCs more fair to deal with. Another interesting note is that the demo of the game used a different model for the Sniper Rifle, which was later incorporated into the retail game as the above Bull's Eye rifle.

An unknown sawn off double barrel shotgun is used by the Panauan Military, and can be seen in conjunction with the larger pump shotgun. For some odd reason, Rico and enemies are capable of firing three (!) shots from the gun before having to reload, despite the gun having only two barrels; upgrades progressively make this even more ridiculous, to the point that Rico is eventually able to apparently hold four shells per barrel. Completely devastating at close range, especially when dual-wielded.

==FN Tactical Police Shotgun==
The 'Pump Shotgun' in the game is based off of an FN Tactical Police Shotgun, though its operation is more similar to that of a semi-auto shotgun. Owing to its larger size, it's a two-handed weapon, trading off the speed and dual-wield-ability for even greater power, a slightly faster rate of fire, tighter spread, and a noticeably higher capacity (starting at six shells and progressively reaching 16 at the highest upgrade). Found throughout Panau, particularly in use with Panauan military elites and the demolition officers found at the bottom of bio-fuel shafts.

Just Cause 2 is a 2010 third-person open world action-adventure game developed by Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive, and published by Square Enix for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The story follows the original game's protagonist, CIA agent Rico Rodriguez, this time finding him sent to the fictional archipelago of Panau, which appears to be based loosely on Indonesia. He is tasked with toppling its ruthless dictator, Pandak "Baby" Panay, who has taken power after a coup against his own his father's pro-Western government and massively enlarged Panau's military capabilities.
A multiplayer mod was developed for the PC version, which was later given an official release via Steam.
The following firearms appear in the video game Just Cause 2:
Overview
Weapons are most easily obtained from the Panauan Military, which are present throughout the islands. Rico can carry a total of three weapons at a time - two smaller weapons which are strapped to his thighs, and one larger 'heavy' weapon slung over his back. The smaller weapons can be dual-wielded. All the weapons and vehicles can be upgraded over the course of the game using upgrade points found in the game world, or earned by completing missions.
Handguns
Desert Eagle Mark VII
The Desert Eagle appears as the "Pistol". It can be identified as the Mark VII by the safety lever and its lack of scope rails as featured on the Mark XIX. The true caliber cannot be determined: the real Desert Eagle holds 9 rounds in .357 Magnum, 8 in .44 Magnum and 7 in .50 AE, while the in-game version starts out with a 12 round magazine, and can eventually be upgraded to a completely ridiculous 24.
Smith & Wesson Model 500
The "Revolver" is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 500, but the in-game model has some incorrect features, including the cylinder latch being too low, a barrel seemingly based on Taurus Tracker revolvers, no compensator ports, and finally it is modeled with a 6-round cylinder instead of a 5-round one. As per video game logic, this last fact means that the in-game weapon starts with a 7-round capacity, and gains one extra round per upgrade until it holds 12 at a time.
"Rico's Signature Gun"
Submachine Guns
FAMAE SAF
Assault Rifles
Colt M4A1
An M4-like carbine appears in-game as the "Assault Rifle".
"Bull's Eye Assault Rifle"
A DLC weapon, the Bull's Eye features a scope for increased long-range effectiveness, and is restricted to semi-automatic fire.
Sniper Rifles
PSL Sniper Rifle
Shotguns
Sawn-Off Double Barrel Side-by-Side Shotgun
An unknown sawn off double barrel shotgun is used by the Panauan Military, and can be seen in conjunction with the larger pump shotgun. For some odd reason, Rico and enemies are capable of firing three (!) shots from the gun before having to reload, despite the gun having only two barrels; upgrades progressively make this even more ridiculous, to the point that Rico is eventually able to apparently hold four shells per barrel. Completely devastating at close range, especially when dual-wielded.
FN Tactical Police Shotgun
The 'Pump Shotgun' in the game is based off of an FN Tactical Police Shotgun, though its operation is more similar to that of a semi-auto shotgun. Owing to its larger size, it's a two-handed weapon, trading off the speed and dual-wield-ability for even greater power, a slightly faster rate of fire, tighter spread, and a noticeably higher capacity (starting at six shells and progressively reaching 16 at the highest upgrade). Found throughout Panau, particularly in use with Panauan military elites and the demolition officers found at the bottom of bio-fuel shafts.
Machine Guns
FN M249
The M249 is called the "Machine Gun". Mounted on patrol boats and Jeeps, and also able to be picked up and hand-fired by Rico. The M249 and M134 Minigun share a mounting which includes an ammo box; this is not part of the weapon model, meaning that when carried the M249 has no ammunition drum; it nevertheless starts with a 26-round capacity, that can be upgraded until it reaches 41 rounds. It is primarily based on the E2 version, but includes the sliding stock of the SPW.
Explosives
Type 97 hand grenade
The game's resident fragmentation grenade. This appears to be a Type 97 hand grenade with an M26 fuze assembly and spoon. They are occasionally thrown by Panauan elites, and demolitions officers in particular make extensive use of them - including dropping eight active ones at their feet when they are killed.
Heavy Weaponry
LeFH 18/40
What appear to be lengthened 10.5 cm leichte FeldHaubitze 18/40 with a mislocated handwheel on the breech and a fictional turntable mounting with fuze-setting equipment are found at certain high-security locations throughout Panau. They can be used by Rico, and are shown as slow-firing self-loading weapons, with no real way given for them to fire more than once since he simply sits in a seat to one side when he is using them.
Pansarskott m/86
The Pansarskott m/86, a Swedish variant of the M136 AT4 with a folding front grip, is called the "Rocket Launcher". Holds an unrealistic 3 rockets at upgrade level 1. "Baby" Panay carries an even more unrealistic version which is semi-automatic and never reloads.
GE M134 Minigun
The GE M134 can be found mounted in emplacements, on patrol boats and helicopters. It's most prominent appearance is during the mission "The White Tiger". The M134 in emplacements can be removed and carried around similar to the GE M134 handheld Minigun in Terminator 2. Although in Just Cause 2 the weapon retains it's spade grips along with the added pistol grip.
M202 FLASH Rocket Launcher
The M202 FLASH quad-barreled rocket launcher is a weapon contained in the 'Boom Pack' DLC; the weapon is shown with an extended midsection which appears to be a copy of the loaded rounds at the rear. The M202 rather bizarrely holds eight shots; all the more bizarre since each "shot" is all four tubes firing at once.
Standalone M203 Grenade Launcher
A fictional weapon called the 'Cluster Bomb Launcher' appears as part of the 'Boom Pack' DLC. it appears to be a magazine-fed M203 mounted on a stand alone frame unit. When fired, it fires several grenade-like projectiles that explode after a few seconds.
Flakvierling 38
Flakvierling 38 quad guns are present in most high-security locations belonging to the Panauan military.
