Hart's War is a 2002 World War II film that is an adaptation of a novel written by John Katzenbach. The film stars Colin Farrell as 1st Lt. Thomas Hart, a US Army lieutenant who is captured by German forces and sent to a POW camp, where he finds himself serving as defense lawyer to a "Red Tail" fighter pilot (Terrence Howard) who is accused of murdering a fellow American POW. Bruce Willis co-stars as Col. William McNamara, the POW Army Colonel who presides over the trial. The film also features early film roles for Sam Worthington and Linus Roache.
The following weapons were used in the film Hart's War:
German Commandos (Christian Kahrmann and Jim Boeven), disguised as M.P.s (Military Police), carry Colt M1911A1 .45 caliber pistols as they take 1st Lt. Thomas Hart (Colin Farrell) prisoner. Capt. Robert M. Swann (Rocky Marshall) is briefly seen with a Colt in his holster at the beginning of the movie.
Walther P38
The personal sidearm of camp commandant Oberst Werner Visser (Marcel Iures) is a Walther P38 pistol. When he sees the weapon disassembled on the commandant's desk, Col. William McNamara (Bruce Willis) is seen assembling it and pointing it at Visser.
