This movie is the dictionary definition of mediocre zombie film. This movie was promoted as the Philippines' first full-scale zombie movie, but the actual movie ended up being really, really bland. Every old trick in the zombie movie book is here, tropes like the one human who only cares about himself, the "immune protagonist" twist, family issues, the final girl, literally none of this movie is original in any way. It's such a shame too, this movie could have been something really special, but it just had to be a really tropey rehash of zombie tropes. I can still remember being bored and disappointed with one of my friends when I was streaming this movie to him... maybe the fact that Mikhail Red enjoyed The Last of Us 2 has something to do with it, hopefully he didn't like the story
The movie apparently has a ton of references to other media like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, the World War Z film (the book still needs a true adaptation), The Walking Dead, Oldboy, 300, and even the Columbine massacre(?!). I found the references to actually be kinda neat, and it really gave me a bit of a look into Mikhail Red's taste in media. According to his instagram, Red even has ideas for a sequel which focuses on both the survivor gang in the movie's ending, and how the outbreak went down outside the school; he talks about a scene in a mall where the survivors use a display car to escape, a plot point that sounds really familiar... all he needs is a green light and a budget though.
Even if this movie was pretty boring, I do hope that he does get to make a sequel, and that it's an improvement over this movie. --Dnkakusei (talk) 13:16, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
