Birds of Prey (aka Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is the 2020 action crime film directed by Cathy Yan and follows anti-hero Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) as she joins forces with other special individuals to rescue an ally from a crime boss. While 2016's Suicide Squad marked Harley's live-action film debut, Birds of Prey featured the first live-action cinematic appearances of several other well-known female characters from DC Comics, including Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Dinah Lance/Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett), Helena Bertinelli/Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and future Batgirl Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco). Robbie would return as Harley Quinn in 2021's The Suicide Squad, and Smollett is slated to reprise the role of Black Canary in an upcoming film of the same name.
