Colt Official Police
Ira Wells (Art Carney) owns, and uses a Colt Official Police, which is appropriate considering that he is supposed to have been a private investigator since 1946. At one point Lamar (John Considine) takes it, by force, from Ira, who gets it back.
Colt Trooper
Laura Birdwell (Joanna Cassidy) uses a long barreled Colt Trooper. Ira Wells (Art Carney) identifies it as a Colt .357 Magnum.
Smith & Wesson Model 39
Lamar (John Considine) primary sidearm of choice is the Smith & Wesson Model 39 with suppressor. Later, it is used by Charlie Hatter (Bill Macey). In the script it is referred to as a ".45".
Walther PP
Jeff Lamar (John Considine) also uses what appears to be a Walther PP with suppressor. As payback, Ira (Art Carney) takes it from Lamar and uses it against him.
Colt Model 1903 Hammerless
A nickel plated Colt Model 1903 with pearl grips plays a pivotal role in the plot. It is also used by Ron Birdwell (Eugene Roche). At one point in the movie it is identified as a "32 auto".
