Rifles
M1 Garand
The M1 Garand is the battle rifle carried by US troops in the film including Private Allistair Piersall Benjamin (Al Freeman Jr.) and Sgt. Rossi (Peter Falk). Major Abraham Falconer (Burt Lancaster) is seen going on a hunt armed with the M1 Garand.
M1 Carbine
The M1 Carbine is seen primarily in the hands of Lieutenant Amberjack (Tony Bill).
Mauser Gewehr 1898
German troops are also armed with the Mauser Gewehr 1898.
Handguns
M1911A1
The M1911A1 is used primarily by Major Abraham Falconer (Burt Lancaster).
Springfield Armory M1911
Lieutenant Amberjack (Tony Bill) uses a similar M1911-type pistol that resembles the Springfield Armory M1911. Private Allistair Piersall Benjamin (Al Freeman Jr.) also uses the pistol.

A Browning M2 Aircraft machine gun is the main weapon used to defend the castle. The machine gun is fitted inside an M63 anti-aircraft mount and is used by Major Abraham Falconer (Burt Lancaster) and Captain Lionel Beckman (Patrick O'Neal).
Browning M1919A4
Browning M1919A4 machine gun is first seen on a US jeep, then mounted on a M2 tripod and primarily used by Sgt. DeVaca (Michael Conrad).
Browning Automatic Rifle
The Browning Automatic Rifle is the weapon mainly used by Corporal Clearboy (Scott Wilson). The BAR also is used by Lieutenant Amberjack (Tony Bill).
MG42
German soldiers are also armed with the MG42. A captured MG42 is used by Sgt. Rossi (Peter Falk).
