I just started watching the first series, and I added the the guns that I've seen so far that weren't already on the list.--Phillb36 03:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Is the whole series available on DVD yet? I've seen a few clips of this show before and thought it looked interesting. Of course, we don't get it here in the States. -MT2008 20:00, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm actually in the States! I'm able to watch it as I have a region-free DVD player with PAL/NTSC converter. The whole series is available as a box set on Amazon UK, which is where I bought it. I was able to get it for under 50 bucks by using a special link on the Professionals Forum page, which allows you to purchase the set for a huge discount. It's quite a deal. The only problem is I don't really have the ability to screencap this page. I'm hoping there is another IMFDB member that will be able to do it.--Phillb36 22:59, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Most DVD players that come standard on PCs will play DVDs from any region. I am responsible for screencapping the Ultimate Force page, and I did that on my laptop even though the DVDs were Region 2. Point is, you really should see if you can play the DVDs on your computer if you haven't tried already. Once you know, there's a whole bunch of free media players you can use that will take screencaps easily.
I might at some point order this show myself, but that's unlikely to happen any time soon. -MT2008 23:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, I'll be damned..the DVDs work on my PC. Probably will be quite a while before I get around to doing any screencaps, though.--Phillb36 21:24, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough. Whenever you want to, though, please feel free to consult with me for advice on media players to use, format of screencaps, etc. -MT2008 21:33, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Doesn't Windows Media Player, that comes loaded on my PC, have a screencap function? I haven't tried it, but it's my understanding that it does.--Phillb36 22:05, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Eh, beats me. I haven't used it in ages. I prefer VLC Media Player, but whatever works for you is fine. -MT2008 22:20, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Photo of M-3 Carbine removed

I removed the M-3 photo as it really doesn't resemble the carbine in the show at all. I'm pretty sure that it's simply a modified M-1, so a picture of that would be more appropriate.

That's understandable. I haven't seen that episode (I only saw a seven or eight when I lived in Europe in the 90's)but I couldn't help myself. It's such a freakish looking thing. Jcordell

Screencaps

I like the screencaps. They add a lot the the site. Keep it up. I especially like the wide ties and long hair. Very stylish. Jcordell

Glad you're enjoying the screencaps. As for the fashion and hair..gotta love the 70's(and early 80's)! Actually, "The Professionals" is quite a good show, with some really well-written episodes and great action scenes. I'd say it's aged better than a lot of American shows that were made around the same time.--Phillb36 03:38, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes. though I still like Miami Vice I have to admit that it hasn't aged well and it was on several years after The Professionals. Jcordell

This page is getting really complete and a sight to behold. It's just incredible to me how much cool stuff they were able to get on this show. If I were alive in the late-70s/early-80s (I was born two years after this show ended), I imagine I would've been ecstatic to watch a program which featured the latest weaponry on a regular basis. -MT2008 05:07, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Enfield Photo

Jcordell, thanks for the Enfield revolver photo, it looks good!--Phillb36 03:53, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Sure not a problem. I'm very fond of the Webleys and Enfield revolvers. Own a Webley Mk VI and just came across an Enfield at a local shop which I've put on layaway. I'm always looking for them. Jcordell

Colt Commander

Good catch on the Colt pistol. I didn't notice the length of the slide before, and there never is a good shot of the pistol's hammer during the episode. I looked at the episode again and there is about one frame where I can get a good look at the hammer, and it does appear to be a Colt Commander.--Phillb36 02:58, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Spy Probe

Have you identified the weapon used by Doyle in Spy Probe to shoot the dummies? Dave Matthew's site has it as a Colt Python, possibly a S&W 29. I think it's a S&W but am unsure of the exact model.

Nickel Model 29 or Model 629?

Here's a couple screens from "Spy Probe":

Is this a Model 29 with a nickel finish or is it a stainless Model 629? I'm guessing Model 629, but I'm not sure. This episode was filmed in 1981, so the 629 would have been in production at that time.--Phillb36 22:31, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Hard to say. Ike you pointed out the 629 was introduced in 1978 and it was made with both a high gloss Stainless steel finish as well as a satin stainless finish. Depending on the light and the angle of view etc the high gloss stainless can look like nickel. --Jcordell 00:35, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Bit of trivia, Martin Shaw actually uses the ejector rod to dump the shells out of it, which is rare for an actor. TheHeartbreakKid15 18:01, 1 December 2011 (CST)

Chrome M1911

I watched an episode this morning (The Ojuka Situation) the character of Colonel Ojuka is seen shooting two assasins with what seems to be either a M1911 or M1911A1 finished in chrome, but when Major Cowley examines it he describes it as a Remington .455 calibre. Does anyone know more about this gun?--The Mercenary 16:24, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

There were 1911s made in the British .455 auto round, but they were all made by Colt, not Remington. - Nyles

Tommy's Rifle Grenade

Has anyone got more information on the rifle grenade fired from an FN/Fal by CI5 agent Tommy Mackay (John Castle) in the 1st season episode "Heroes"?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it is supposed to be an ENERGA anti-tank rifle grenade, which can be seen here: [1]--Phillb36 19:57, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

Does anyone think there should be a trivia section? I don't know if fellow users know that Lewis Collins (Bodie) was a member of the Parachute Regiment(T) and even passed selection for the SAS but was declined due to his fame.

It was the territorial SAS not the regular Army SAS, but that is quite interesting. Apparently he is an avid sports shooter in both rifles and pistols. --cool-breeze 19:46, 1 December 2011 (CST)

Remember to list the guest actors

Just a reminder to list the names of the guest actors for your screencaps. Some are missing. MoviePropMaster2008 22:56, 4 May 2012 (CDT)

Browning Hi Powers

Both Inglis and FN Hi Powers are used, the latter best identified by their external extractors.--Tecolote (talk) 05:36, 14 June 2015 (EDT)
