I only have The Seeds of Doom and City of Death on DVD, but I figured that for now I should contribute what I could. - Kooshmeister

I've made a few updates, but for now the only source I have for images of the Sterling is a streamed review of the serials in question. If anyone's got the DVDs for the episodes I cited, could they get some screencaps? The Wierd It 08:28, 14 December 2011 (CST)

M1911

I think that this is not a M1911, it is a SIG P210.--Flavio 06:19, 14 December 2011 (CST)

Thanks! Kooshmeister
I noticed that too, without seeing above comment. Took the liberty to correct this and also reset all imagesizes; 400px for gunpics and 600px for screenshots as per IMFDB standards. Thanks for the page, --PeeWee055 06:58, 14 December 2011 (CST)

Rename proposal

I'm proposing this be renamed "Doctor Who (Classic Series)" and have the generic page put up as a disambig between this one and Doctor Who (New Series). Thoughts? The Wierd It 13:06, 14 December 2011 (CST)

Works for me. - Kooshmeister

All those P38's in City of Death

Anyone else find it strange that except for the Countess' little revolver, all the guns in City of Death are P38's? The DVD audio commentary offers no explanation for why every single time a character uses a pistol, good or evil, it's always a P38. Why is this? My only theory is that this was all the show's armorer could get on such short notice, given the series' tight shooting schedules, but it still seems a bit weird. - Kooshmeister

The P38 seems to be a popular pistol in Doctor Who especially for villains. It turns up in "The Invasion" and "The Daemons" as well. - Drawward

Firearms in Multiple Serials

What about firearms that turn up in multiple serials? As a doctor who completest I would want to see screen caps of each instance a firearm appears in Doctor Who however would this contravene the image rules? I do see some firearm entries getting rather long with all the stories they are featured in. For example I've just screen capped the 1968 Patrick Troughton (2nd Doctor) Story “The Invasion.” The P38, M1911 and the L1A1 SLR turn up in this story. Also three serials come to mind featuring the Steyr AUG alone. At the very least I suggest a table below each weapon detailing which serials the weapon has appeared in and used buy whom. Any thoughts? - Drawward

If the screencaps are clear I say throw 'em up there. Kooshmeister (talk) 09:58, 15 May 2013 (EDT)

Not a G 43

The rifle identified as a Gewehr 43 is clearly an SKS. - Phillb36 (talk) 23:15, 14 May 2013 (EDT)

Having said that, you didn't change it yourself because...? I mean, I know I was incorrect, but having noticed the inaccuracy of my guess, I'm just left wondering why you didn't correct it yourself. Kooshmeister (talk) 09:57, 15 May 2013 (EDT)
Many times I will correct the page and then leave a message in the talk section as to the change I have made. I didn't do this last night as it was late and I was tired. I know it would have only taken a few minutes to update the page but really I just wanted to go to sleep. If I wasn't going to make the correction I at least wanted to let you know of the mistake. - Phillb36 (talk) 10:58, 15 May 2013 (EDT)
Ah, well, my thanks, my friend. I tend to be a bit iffy about ID'ing guns. Kooshmeister (talk) 16:03, 16 May 2013 (EDT)

3032 Tomcats actually Jetfires or other?

The page currently lists the Beretta 3032 Tomcat as appearing in Inferno (1970), but wikipedia lists the 3032 Tomcat as having starter production in 1996, obviously wikipedia isn't the most reliable source but is it likely the guns were actually misidentified Jetfires? I'm only on season 2 so far so it will be a few months before I watch Inferno and maybe will know more then, but I was just wondering if anyone knew if Tomcats were produced before 96. S3anyBoy (talk) 11:03, 19 February 2015 (EST)

I have to concur that it could not be a Tomcat as it was not in production until the 1990s. Independent of the Wikipedia entry, I clearly recall the introduction of the pistol in the mid-1990s. The screenshot from Inferno is not clear enough for me to make out what the pistol actually is, but I think we can say with certainty it is not a 3032 Tomcat. Dalek Invasion of Earth

Can anyone help with indentifying?

I see some MP40s, what looks like some kind of Sten, a Hi-Power and some sort of revolvers (Webley?)

Well, you are right: MP40 on top screenshot, Hi-Powers on the second and fourth ones, Webley .38 Mk IV on the third. I only cannot find the Sten, where it is seen? Greg-Z (talk) 03:04, 14 July 2015 (EDT)

I thought I had seen one but I guess I was mistaken, looks like someone in the back has some other straight mag smg but it's hard to identify. http://i.imgur.com/qEipp17.jpg Thanks for the help with the rest. S3anyBoy (talk) 14:20, 16 July 2015 (EDT)

Episodes that need inclusion/screencaps

Given how this page is kinda incomplete, I think the following Classic DW eps definitely need inclusion thanks to their use of a firearms and also need a good few screencaps, which I may do myself later, but this is for anyone wanting to search as well:

  • Planet of Giants
  • The Gunfighters (it's about cowboys, after all)
  • Power of the Daleks
  • The Web of Fear
  • The Invasion
  • The War Games
  • Colony in Space (mentioned, but needs screencaps)
  • Genesis of the Daleks is already mentioned/screencapped, but there's no info the rifles used by Thal soldiers
  • Resurrection of the Daleks (mentioned in this article, but needs screencaps plus the bomb squad's firearms)
  • Caves of Androzani
  • Attack of the Cybermen
  • Revelation of the Daleks
  • Remembrance of the Daleks
  • The Curse of Fenric

I'd be happy if anyone wants to correct but I hope this kinda helps. --Skarling (talk) 09:24, 21 November 2015 (EST)

The Web of Fear has L1A1 SLRs, and a Browning HP. The Caves of Androanzi has mocked up MAC 10s. In Genesis of the Daleks I believe they used the Lee-Enfield ( either SMLE or No.4 Mk1 ). Colony in Space has the Johnson M1941 Rifle ( how'd they get one of those? ), Gunfighters has the Colt SAA, The Invasion has L1A1 SLRs ( any U.N.I.T story uses the L1A1 SLR ), The War Games has SMLEs, MAC 10s and a suppressed Browning HP in Attack of the Cybermen, L1A1 SLR a Sterling and a Rocket Launcher in Remembrance of the Daleks, and the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk1 in The Curse of Fenric. Planet of Giants has a Beretta Jetfire ( the tip-up barrel is used ) and Power of the Daleks ( the animated version ) uses the G36, the Sten, the Beretta 92FS, and the Webley.
