The "Mossy 500 Cruiser" isn't. The receiver isn't even close. It appears to be a High Standard Flite King. I don't have the time to research it right now. Anyone want to? I'd appreciate it. krispic 01-23-2012

You're right. It is not a Mossberg. Even though the standard Mossberg 500 came out in 1961, the cruiser did not exist during this time frame. Also you can see that there is a button (safety?) on the front of the trigger guard, which makes it NOT a Mossberg. A High Standard Flite King is a good guess. It looks the closest. Here's a different shot of the shotgun. It also has a shorter barrel. Please help ID this. --Ben41 22:52, 23 January 2012 (CST)
High standard flite king with pistol grip. Any better shots of the mag tube? That would clinch it.MPM2008
Ben, that's a great grab! You can see the visible shell lifter and extractor, the notched receiver front and back, the eject port wraps around to the top plane of the receiver, the triggerguard shape and crossbolt safety. The barrel lug/mag tube would be too much to hope for, MPM lol I'm convinced it's a Flite King. krispic 01-24-2012
That barrel clamp mag tube attach is a classic K10/K100 Flite King. Great pic, Ben! I'm convinced. If no one is in dissension, could someone readd that to the page? krispic 01-25-2012

(moved from main page) What appears to be a shotgun is carried by Gunnery Sergeant Curry (Noble Willingham) in the film.
