Totally Accurate Battlegrounds
|
Totally Accurate Battlegrounds (TABG) is a free-to-play battle royale first-person shooter video game developed by Swedish studio Landfall Games and a spin-off of the real-time strategy game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS). Like its predecessor, TABG parodies a popular video game genre, in this case, the battle royale genre.
TABG's signature offering is "whacky" Unity engine physics that affects the player, environment, and firearms. Other than that, the TABG plays similarly to other battle royale games, with players either playing solo or squads, looting after the drop, killing enemy players, and making it to the final zone. Instead of gas or fire, pillars slowly close in, creating a wall in the final zone.
Like PUBG, TABG permits players to customize their guns with attachments ranging from standard sights to double barrels that can be put on any firearm but are restricted to up to three attachments. The list of attachments includes the following:
- Red Dot
- 2x Scope
- 4x Scope
- 8x Scope
- Muzzle Brake
- Suppressor
- Compensator
- Damage Analyzer
- Health Analyzer
- Heavy Barrel
- Fast Barrel
- Double Barrel
Important Note: Following the Free-to-play update, many rare and "cursed" guns are no longer available in the game or the shooting range.
The following weapons appear in the video game Totally Accurate Battlegrounds:
Handguns
TABG has pistols split into two sections: Handguns and Machine Pistols, all of which can be dual-wielded by the player, sacrificing the ability to aim down sights for double the firepower. Each handgun can be customized separately.
Handguns
Colt Python
The Colt Python appears under the generic "Revolver" name. The game also has special revolver variants sharing the same model. The first is called a "Real Gun," a joke weapon that shoots no bullets but a Bam! Flag, which can reference the revolver used by the Joker. The second variant is referred in-game as Badger or Suicide Revolver by the community due to the barrel being bent backward 180°
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
One of the stronger secondary weapons the player can access is a Desert Eagle Mark XIX.
Flintlock
A generic Flintlock pistol is available as a secondary weapon. Like the musket, the player must find a separate ammo box on the ground to use these two weapons.
Hand Gun
Having the same rarest spawn rarity as AWPS-74U, the Hand Gun is a hand that makes pew sounds upon firing. It shares similar stats to the M1911-style pistol.
Luger P08
The player can operate the iconic Luger P08. If the player equips the heavy barrel attachment, the pistol transforms into the "whacky" Luger LP08 "Artillery" model.
M1911-Style Pistol
The player can loot an M1911 on the ground. Due to the "whacky" art style, it is hard to determine which version of the M1911 is featured.
Machine Pistols
Berretta 93R
A Beretta 93R is one of the three machine pistols that can be found in the game, and it is the only burst-fire pistol in the TABG.
Glock 18C
A Glock 18C can be found on the ground by the player, and it is the fastest-firing machine pistol in the game with the ability to dual-wield and fully customize. Like with other guns on this list, the "whacky" art direction gives it a degree of stylization. There is also a "Glockinator," where two Glock 18C are welded together, and the player uses a red dot in the middle to aim them.
Intratec TEC-9
A full-auto converted TEC-9 can be found, but due to the "whacky" art style, it is hard to identify the exact variant of the TEC-9.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
The M1A1 Thompson is available for the player to find on the ground.
MAC-10
The Military Armament Corporation Model 10 or MAC-10 can be found on the ground and can be dual-wielded in combat.
MP40
The infamous WWII submachine gun, the MP40, can be found on the ground. Its to be noted that the stock is folded.
MP5K
The compact MP5K is available to the contestants and can be found on the ground upon landing.
P90
The P90 can be found on the ground by players, standing out from the rest with its distinctive 50-round magazine. With a heavy barrel attachment, the player can turn the P90 into a "whacky" fully automatic FN PS90 TR, the carbine version of the P90.
PPSH-41
The iconic Soviet PPSh-41 is available to the players and is depicted with the iconic drum magazine. The "whacky" art style can fool players into thinking the variant depicted is the German 9x19mm converted MP 41(r) (Maschinenpistole 41(r)), but that is not the case.
TDI Vector
One of the fastest firing submachine guns in TABG is the TDI Vector, modeled after the first prototype, but with a Gen-1 Stock.
UMP45
The UMP45 is the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none submachine guns available to the player. The player can turn the UMP45 into a "whacky" full-auto Heckler & Koch USC Tactical Match Rifle with the heavy barrel attachment.
Shotguns
AA-12
The only base full-auto shotgun in the game, the MPS AA-12 CQB comes with the iconic drum magazine.
Blunderbuss
The Blunderbuss is one of the shotguns available to the player in TABG, having one of the game's highest damage/recoil stats, which can be doubled by using the double-barrel attachment.
Double-Barreled Shotgun
A sawed-off double-barreled shotgun with exposed hammers, having a comically high recoil that players can use to move faster around the battlefield.
Mossberg 500
The Mossberg 500 appears in TABG as the reliable and consistent workhorse of shotguns. It is depicted with a spare shell holder on the side of the receiver.
Rainmaker
The special fully-automatic shotgun in the game, the Rainmaker, is a direct upgrade over any other shotguns in all aspects. Due to the "whacky" art style, the closest real-life counterpart to the Rainmaker can be found in Armsel Striker Street Sweeper.
Winchester Model 1887
Known as the "Arnold," the Winchester Model 1887 is based on the modified, shortened Model 1887 made famous by Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Rifles
Hybrid AK-47 Rifle
Due to the "whacky" art style, the Kalashnikov rifle seems to be a mix of AK-47 and AKM parts. Overall, it is a well-rounded, reliable weapon.
AKS-74U
The more compact member of the Kalashnikov family, the AKS-74U, is available to players in TABG. It retains all the aspects of the Hybrid AK rifle but is significantly more compact.
AUG A1
One of two bullpups available in TABG, the Steyr AUG A1 is the first version of the famous Austrian rifle family. It is the only rifle with a starting optic.
FAMAS
The second bullpup rifle in TABG, the FAMAS F1, is available for players, retaining stats like AUG.
FAL
Single-fire FN FAL makes an appearance in the TABG.
M1 Garand
The iconic US infantry rifle of WW2, the M1 Garand, is a part of the TABG weapon sandbox.
Kar98K
Another WW2 weapon in the TABG, the Kar98k, is available on the ground. Hard-hitting and reliable as its real-life counterpart.
M14
The successor to M1 Garand, the M14, is available for players to find on the ground, behaving the same as its WW2 predecessor, with the only difference being a higher magazine capacity in M14's case.
M16A1/A2
The M16 depicted in the TABG is a mix of two variants, the M16A1 receiver but with the three-round burst capability of the M16A2.
StG-44
Another iconic WW2 firearm, the StG44 or Sturmgewehr 44, is available in the TABG arsenal. However, it is to be noted that StG-44 is the slowest-firing rifle in the game.
S7
The S7 is a burst rifle and seems to be a blend of several firearms:
1. The stylized collapsible stock of the M4
2. The magazine and round-feeding operation of the Kriss TDI Vector
3. The gas system of M60
4. The stylized and prolonged barrel of the SIG-Sauer MCX VIRTUS SBR
FN SCAR-H
The FN SCAR-H is available to the players on the ground upon landing in the TABG.
Winchester Model 1886
The only lever action in the game, the Winchester Model 1886, pays tribute to the Wild West Era.
Sniper Rifles
Accuracy International Arctic Warfare
One of the three sniper rifles available to the player in the game, the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare is the standard bolt-action option.
AWPS-74U
A rare sniper rifle on the battlefield, the AWPS-74U, as the name implies, is a mix of Accuracy International Arctic Warfare and AKS-74U, balancing out their prospective statistics by being fully automatic but dealing less damage.
Barrett M82
Like many other first-person shooters, the Barrett is the game's highest damage-dealing semi-automatic sniper rifle. The gun is modeled after the M82 model. A scaled-up version with bigger damage and recoil is known as "Really Big Barrett."
VSS
The VSS or VSS Vintorez (Vintovka Snayperskaya Spetsialnaya) is the only integrally suppressed sniper rifle available in the game. And while it lacks damage compared to Barret or AW, it compensates with the fast rate of fire (fully-automatic) and integral suppression.
Machine Guns
MG42
The famous German MG42 makes an appearance in the game, where it (appropriately) has the highest fire rate among all machine guns.
M1918A2 BAR
The M1918A2 BAR is the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none machine gun in the TABG arsenal.
Browning M2HB
The heavy-hitting Browning M2HB appears in the TABG, being the heaviest in the class with the most damage as it is chambered in .50 BMG. Hilariously, it is depicted in a pintle-mounted configuration with no provisions to make it "man-portable."
Launchers
MGL
The Milkor MGL or just "MGL" is the only grenade launcher available in the game. Due to the "whacky" art style, it is hard to determine which variant was used as the base. The grenade launcher is also missing the reflect sight.
Missile Launcher
The "Missile Launcher" is a scaled-down and futuristic looking M202 FLASH available in TABG sandbox. Compared to its real-life counterpart, its fully automatic, compact, and hold seven rockets instead of four.
Other
Crossbow
Several types of crossbows are available in the TABG, each with varied utility. From top left:
- 1. Balloon Crossbow- This fully automatic crossbow shoots special darts that, upon hitting the enemy/friendly, will attach a balloon and send them sky-high. More balloons, the faster the rate of climb.
- 2. Firework Crossbow- This two-burst fire crossbow shoots special darts that, upon hitting the enemy/friendly, will attach firework rockets and send them uncontrollably flying across the arena. More fireworks, faster the flight.
- 3. Gaussbow- A single-fire high, damage explosive crossbow, firing a dart with a timed delay, dealing the most damage out of all crossbows.
- 4. Automatic Crossbow- Fully automatic crossbow with the highest magazine capacity out of all crossbows in the game.
- 5. Taser Crossbow- A single-fire crossbow that special darts that, upon hitting the enemy/friendly, will paralyze them for a short time.
- 6. Crossbow- A standard-issue single-fire crossbow.
- 7. Crossbow Pistol- A single-fire small crossbow, the only one that can be dually wielded.
Minigun
The Minigun present in TABG is another Easter Egg to the Terminator 2, Judgment Day movie, as it is modeled after the prop gun used in the film. However, the number of barrels can be doubled to 12, providing players with such an amount of recoil that, if used correctly, it can fly around the arena.
Musket
Like the Flintlock pistol, the Flintlock Musket requires special "musket" ammunition found on the ground in TABG. It shares all the aspects of the FP but with a better range.
Taser
One of the few utility tools in the TABG arsenal, The Taser only paralyzes the enemy/teammates, providing the shooter with a tactical opportunity. The Taser itself seems to be modeled after the Advanced M26.
Explosives
Wall of Grenades
Grenades in TABG are divided into several categories:
- Offensive
- Utility
- Defensive
- Special
