City on Fire
City on Fire is a 1987 Hong Kong crime drama directed by Ringo Lam and stars Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee as members of a high-end robbery crew who begin to suspect that one of them might be an undercover cop. Some have commented that particular scenes and themes in this film bear a striking resemblance to Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs released four years later. Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee would later co-star in John Woo's The Killer.
The following weapons were used in the film City on Fire:
Colt Python
The Colt Python is primarily used by Fu (Danny Lee) during the jewelry heist.
Browning Hi-Power
Before the final heist, the robbery crew's boss (Fong Yau) reveals a case holding a Colt Python, a Browning Hi-Power, a Smith & Wesson Model 586, and a Colt M1911.
Colt Government
A Colt Government is held by Ko Chow (Chow Yun-Fat) during the jewelry heist.
Smith & Wesson Model 586
Before the final heist, the robbery crew's boss (Fong Yau) reveals a case holding a Colt Python, a Browning Hi-Power, a Smith & Wesson Model 586, and a Colt M1911.
Colt Detective Special
When Ko Chow promises three more "Smith & Wessons" to Fu during the first gun deal, he returns with two Colt Detective Specials and one more Smith & Wesson Model 10. Despite the revolvers being Colts, Ko Chow still refers to them as "same as the first one".
Smith & Wesson Model 10HB
A Smith & Wesson Model 10HB with a 3" barrel is the first Smith & Wesson sold by Ko Chow (Chow Yun-Fat) during the first gun deal. Later, Fu (Danny Lee) takes it and pulls it on Ko Chow in the cemetery. Another one along with two Colt Detective Specials are seen in the second gun deal.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snub Nose
During the jewelry heist, a snub-nosed Smith & Wesson Model 10 is used by one of the robbers to gun down an employee when the alarm sounds. This is presumably one of the "Smith & Wesson" Colt Detective Specials sold by Ko Chow in the second gun deal, but it now becomes a real Smith & Wesson.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Hong Kong police officers are armed with the Smith & Wesson Model 10 during the shootout with Fu's crew.
Enfield No.2 Mk I
Fu is also seen with an Enfield No.2 Mk I during the robbery at the beginning of the film.
Walther P38
A Walther P38 is used by a member of the robbery crew at the beginning of the film.
M16A1
Hong Kong SDU (Special Duties Unit) officers are armed with the M16A1.
