The Adventures of Werner Holt (Die Abenteuer des Werner Holt ) is a 1965 East German war movie directed by Joachim Kunert and based on the eponymous novel by Dieter Noll. The story takes place in 1944-45 in Germany and on the Eastern front. The disasters of war are seen through the eyes of a young German named Werner Holt (Klaus-Peter Thiele ), who served on an anti-aircraft battery, then in an anti-partisan detachment and at last in the frontline.
