I got into guns through airsoft. I come from Germany and live in Japan, both countries where carrying guns is in general prohibited. So airsoft is the only easy way to get my hands on something that close ;-) Also it's nice to know that some of the most badass guns come from my country (H&K, Walther, Sig Sauer).
