The Mask of the Gorilla (original title Le Gorille vous salue bien ("The Gorilla salute you")) is a 1958 French spy movie directed by Bernard Borderie and starring Lino Ventura as Géo Paquet aka "The Gorilla", an agent of DST (French counterespionage agency) who pretends to be a criminal in order to infiltrate a spy ring. The film was followed by two sequels, Gorilla's Waltz (La Valse du Gorille) (1959) and The Deadly Decoy (Le gorille a mordu l'archevêque) (1962) with Roger Hanin in the role of "The Gorilla".
