Savage Beach is a 1989 action movie, the story revolving around a gold treasure hidden on a Pacific island by a Japanese general in the last days of World War II. Forty years later, in his final moments he reveals the location to what he believes are Japanese secret agents.
This sets of a race for the gold between several gangs of criminals and two blond federal agents Donna (Dona Speir) and Taryn (Hope Marie Carlton) who are caught in between as they have to make an emergency landing on the Pacific island.
The movie is directed by Andy Sidaris as part of his “Bullets, Bombs and Babes” (a.k.a. “L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies”) film series. These action movies are predominantly filmed on Hawaii and feature a cast mostly made up of Playmates in roles of secret agents. For further movies check the “See Also” section.
The following weapons can be seen in the movie Savage Beach:
Handguns
Harrington & Richardson Model 733
Captain Andreas (John Aprea) carries a Harrington & Richardson Model 733 as his side arm. Martinez (Rodrigo Obregón) takes the Model 733 and uses it during his flight from the island.
Beretta 950BS Jetfire
The Beretta 950BS Jetfire is carried by federal agents Pattycakes (Patty Dufeck) and Donna (Dona Speir). In the final scene at the Pacific island, Donna gives her Jetfire to Captain Andreas.
Davis P-32
A Davis P-32 with pearl grips is carried by federal agents Rocky (Lisa London) and Taryn (Hope Marie Carlton). It might also be the P-380 version but for the sake of identification a P-32 is assumed.
Orion Flare Gun
On several occasions, Donna uses a 12 Gauge Orion Flare Gun from the emergency kit of the plane she crashes on the Pacific island with.
Unidentified pistol
An unidentified pistol is used by Taryn, Bruce and Martinez. It is a compact model with a round golden marking on the wooden grips and a dark finish.
Submachine Guns
Sterling Mk. IV (Blastech E-11 blaster)
A thug (uncredited actor) can be seen with a Sterling Mk. IV mocked up as the Blastech E-11 blaster from Star Wars. For some reason the movie armorer probably took a toy gun, explaining this most improbable gun placement.
IMI Uzi
An Uzi is used by Taryn during the drug bust at the beginning of the movie as well as by a thug (uncredited actor) on the Pacific island.
IMI Micro Uzi
In one scene, Bruce Christian uses a IMI Micro Uzi to subdue a Marine officer. The submachine gun is mistakenly shown capable of firing sleep-inducing darts and is probably a non-gun.
Rifles
Steyr AUG A1
A Steyr AUG A1 is used by both federal agents Donna and Taryn as well as by Martinez. Interestingly, it has the distinctive duckbill flash hider of the Austrian Army version.
Armalite AR-7
Thug Erik (Eric Chen) uses a two-toned Armalite AR-7 with customized barrel cover, a hand grip and a lightweight synthetic stock. In the final scene, it is taken from him and used by Fu (Al Leong).
Shotguns
Colt Model 1878 (reproduction)
During the drug bust at the beginning of the movie, the main trafficker and one of his accomplices use what looks like a replica of the Colt Model 1878 against the federal agents.
Unidentified shotgun
During the same drug bust at the beginning of the movie, another trafficker uses an unidentified shotgun. It appears to be single shot and has a synthetic stock with an unusually wide thumb hole in it.
Miscellaneous
Unidentified crossbow
An unidentified crossbow with pistol grip and scope, shooting supposedly explosive arrows, is used by federal agents Taryn, Donna and by Bruce. The unrealistic explosions are obvious special effects.
