Beaulieu is hired by Mr. Sphax, who seems to be oblivious about his wife's affair, to work for him and to accompany him to Heidelberg, West Germany, where professor Henri Banck (Maurice Garrel) is about to receive an award. However, Beaulieu is soon visited by his former commander, major Rhome (Bernard Blier), who reveals, that Sphax plans to deliver Banck to the Chinese and hires Beaulieu to prevent the kidnapping.
The following firearms can be seen in the film To Commit a Murder:
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Before going to West Germany, Rhome gives Beaulieu (Louis Jourdan) a S&W Model 10 snub nose revolver. He later smuggles it up to the plane, that would take the group to Egypt, and use it to force Sphax and Gertraud to let him and Banck go.
MAB Model D
Rhome, believing that Beaulieu has switched sides, tries to kill him at the airport with a silenced MAB Model D pistol, but he gets shot by Belloum (Gamil Ratib), one of Sphax's men.
Unknown pistol
Due to the way the scene is shot, it is impossible to tell what kind of pistol Belloum uses when he shoots Rhome.
