Talk:Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
I've removed the Flamethrower and the Yithean Energy Weapon, because they aren't actual firearms. Dannysaysnoo 19:32, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- We do include flamethrowers and fictional weapons are OK for videogames that have mostly real weapons.--PistolJunkie 00:33, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- I haven't played this game for a while, and I lost the disk. I'll get screenshots when I buy it again on Steam. The flamethrower might be an M2 or something, but the Yithian weapon doesn't sound much worth keeping. Dannysaysnoo 14:14, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Need help with the shotgun and revolver
I recently got the game on Steam and am looking to finishing the page for this rough gem of a game, and assuming I don't get my progress cut short by the game's numerous bugs (I got two CTD errors while trying to push a shelf and a crate in the "Attack of the Fishmen" level that I found a way around, and regularly lost all control over my character after looking at the first sanity-blasting "noosed broad" early on in the game), I'll be able to fill out the page with more descriptive text and good screenshots. However, I'd like to know if the player-usable shotgun and revolver have been conclusively identified--they seem a little generic to me (or at least that's how they're portrayed in the game). Can anyone vouch for the current IDs for these guns? --Mazryonh (talk) 01:17, 19 January 2013 (EST)
Thompson SMG
I have edited by page. Thompson SMG in the game has Cutts compensator, so this model M1921AC. Slon95 (talk) 28 February 2015 (EST)
- The Cutts compensator was also available on the M1928 (which also could have a vertical foregrip), and could be fitted to other Thompsons - The gun image on the page is of an M1928. That being said, it's rather pointless to specify a model when we have no images to verify that. StanTheMan (talk) 12:16, 28 February 2015 (EST)
- Action game is set in 1922 year, so that it can not be M1928. Slon95 (talk) 28 February 2015 (EST)
- Setting isn't enough - We've seen plenty of anachronistic guns in media, including video games. There's little external difference between the 1921 and 1928 Thompsons. Again, images are key. Until some are given, again, an ID can only be speculative at best. StanTheMan (talk) 22:33, 28 February 2015 (EST)
