Lonely Hearts
|
Lonely Hearts is a 2006 film depicting the efforts of Nassau County Detective Elmer C. "Buster" Robinson (John Travolta) to track and arrest a couple known as the "Lonely Hearts Killers" (played by Jared Leto and Salma Hayek) during the late 1940s after the suicide of his wife. Although the film takes several liberties (for instance, the real Martha Beck was over two hundred pounds, weighing much more than Salma Hayek), it is interesting to note that the film was written and directed by Det. Robinson's grandson Todd Robinson.
The following firearms were used in the film Lonely Hearts:
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Most of the Nassau County detectives, including Elmer C. "Buster" Robinson (John Travolta) and Charlie Hilderbrandt (James Gandolfini) carry Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers, also seen in the hands of the Grand Rapids, MI police. After the opening credits, Anne Robinson is seen shooting herself with a Model 10 - most likely belonging to her husband - which Hilderbrandt describes during a voice-over as a "service .38".
M1911A1
Ray Fernandez (Jared Leto) and Martha Beck (Salma Hayek) travel through the country with a M1911A1, using it in various murders.
Colt Official Police
Det. Reilly (Scott Caan) and other Nassau County detectives carry Colt Official Police revolvers.
Remington Model 31
Several Grand Rapids uniformed policemen carry Remington Model 31 field model shotguns.
Winchester Model 1897
Several Grand Rapids plainclothes policemen carry Winchester Model 1897 long-barreled shotguns.
12 Gauge Double Barreled shotgun
A Grand Rapids plainclothes detective carries a Double Barreled Shotgun.
