John Dies at the End (2012)

John Dies at the End is a 2012 comedy/science fiction film based on David Wong's novel of the same name directed by Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, The Beastmaster) starring Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, with Paul Giamatti, Glynn Turman, and Clancy Brown. It appears that the firearms seen in this film are airsoft replicas.

The following weapons were used in the film John Dies at the End:

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P229R

David Wong (Chase Williamson) carries a SIG-Sauer P229R for much of the film. It appears to be a gas blow airsoft replica.

Detective Appleton (Glynn Turman) carries a Heckler & Koch USP as his sidearm. In a continuity error, David's P229 turns into a USP for one scene. This appears to be an airsoft replica.

Shotguns

WA Shan Airsoft Double Barreled Shotgun

David Wong and John Cheese (Rob Mayes) have a Sawn-off Double Barreled Shotgun in their equipment bag. It is however an airsoft double barreled shotgun, produced by WA Shan (China) and well known in the airsoft world. Can be identified by its flashy wood finish, and it uses airsoft grenades modified to look like 12 gauge shells.

Double Eagle M58B

Detective Appleton grabs what appears to be a Double Eagle M58B airsoft shotgun from his car. Obviously, this is supposed to stand in for a real shotgun, possibly a Mossberg 500 Cruiser. Amy (Fabianne Therese) later retrieves it for David.

Oversized bullet

The bullets that Detective Appleton loads into his USP are way too big for it.

Gas Blow

Since David's P229R is a gas blow model, it continues to cycle even after he's supposed to have run out of ammo.
