Beretta M92F

The Beretta M92F features prominently in the film as the main weapon of Detective John McClaine (Bruce Willis). At one point, McClaine's nemesis Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) gets ahold of it, albeit with no ammo in the magazine which enables McClaine to figure out who Hans is.

Heckler & Koch P7

The primary villian of the film, Hans Gruber carries a Heckler & Koch P7 as his main weapon. The most notable scenes involving it include Gruber threatening and then killing Joe Tagaki (James Shigeta) with it, and then brandishing it at the climax of the film, holding McClaine's wife at gunpoint and then falling to his death still holding it.

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

Another frequently-seen weapon in the film is the Heckler & Koch MP5A3. Used primarily by Gruber's men (and occasionally Gruber himself), McClain manages to comandeer one from one of the terrorists, informing his comrades of this by leaving a note on the corpse saying that "Now I've got a machine gun". At one point, McClain extends the stock hoping to use it as an anchor so he can teether down the elevator shaft via the sling, though the sling doesn't support his weight for long.

Steyr AUG

One of the most unique weapons in the film, the Steyr AUG is used by Karl (Alexander Godunov) during his personal mission to get revenge against McClaine for killing one of the terrorists, who happened to be his brother. In a memorable scene of the film, a bloodied and left-for-dead Karl emerges from the rubble of the Nakatomi Building with his AUG in hand, hell-bent on killing McClaine, only to be killed by three shots from Sergeant Al Powell (Reginald VelJohnson)'s police revolver.

M60E3

Another weapon in the terrorists' arsenal, an M60E3 machine gun is the weapon used by the terrorists to turn Sgt. Al Powell's police car into "swiss cheese" after McClaine throws a dead terrorist out of a window and onto the hood of his car.

Some of the SWAT officers conducting the doomed raid on the Nakatomi building are also carrying M1911A1 pistols.

M40 sniper rifle

During the rooftop scene near the end of the movie, FBI Special Agent Johnson (Robert Davi) attempts to shoot McClain with an M40 sniper rifle, mistaking him for one of the terrorists. Before Johnson can fire the fatal shot, the bombs planted on the roof are detonated, the fireball engulfing his helicopter.

Others have suggested that this is a Heckler & Koch G3/SG-1 Sniper Rifle, which can be fired on full automatic mode.

Walther PPK

During the takeover of the Nakatomi Building, Karl can be seen using a silenced Walther PPK to kill the security guard at the front desk.

"Hockey Puck" Flash-Bang

During the takeover of the Nakatomi building, the terrorists use flash-bang grenades shaped like hockey pucks to disorient the guards long enough for the terrorists to kill them. One of these weapons is also used during the gun battle that ensues after McClaine and Gruber's first meeting when the terrorists are attempting to pin down McClaine by shattering the glass windows surrounding him.
