Homeland is a television drama/thriller series that stars Claire Danes as a CIA analyst who is convinced that a recently released US Marine (Damian Lewis) who was captured by Al Qaeda several years ago has in fact become a sleeper agent for the terrorist organization. The series, which premiered on the Showtime network in the US in 2011, is being produced by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, who were both involved with the series 24.

In Season 1's "Representative Brody" (S1E10), a CIA sniper is seen with a sniper rifle on a rooftop watching over the fountain. The rifle appears to be a Heckler & Koch PSG-1 A1 with an illuminated scope which contains red chevrons or BDC (bullet drop compensation) marks in its reticle.
