Talk:Deadfall Adventures
I will update the site as I play through the game -hchris
- Is this game any good? I was considering buying this on Steam. --Warejaws (talk) 15:22, 23 November 2013 (EST)
- Actually it is really enjoyable. The visuals are great, gameplay is fun, the puzzles are good too. It offers a lot of different, beautiful settings. The best thing is that you can play with a lot of different guns, some of them have never been in any other video game before (my list here is not complete yet, I am still updating the page as there are many many more guns ingame). If I were you I would buy it! One of the more innovative shooters/adventure I have played in recent years! - hchris
I have looked through gameplay videos and many weapons seem to lack proper cartridge ejection, only the Suomi, MP-34, Fedorov and MG-34 seem to eject casings. Can you confirm if this is the case? Also, do the guns leave any casings on the ground after firing? Z008MJ (talk) 08:07, 24 November 2013 (EST)
- Will check tomorrow, did not pay attention to this -hchris
I will add the missing screencaps over the next 2 or 3 days. -hchris
Have you checked the ejection of casings on weapons yet, i am interested in finding out if my observation was correct? Z008MJ (talk) 15:47, 26 November 2013 (EST)
- Not yet sorry, but will do so tomorrow hopefully. - hchris
"Allan Quartermain Revolver"
So recently, the devs announced the collector's edition of the game, which includes a DLC weapon called Allan Quartermain Revolver, after the iconic literary adventurer. I'd love to upload a screenshot, but I can't nail the file upload system here. If someone wants to see it, just look on the game's official website. It looks like a slightly modified Remington New Army 1875. --PyramidHead (talk) 21:39, 25 November 2013 (EST)
- Yep true, I have the collectors edition, will upload the screenshots. It is actually a Pietta Revolver.
What exactly is the Pietta Revolver, what gun is it supposed to be? A Remington 1875 replica? Are there any images of a real version of the in-game revolver? Z008MJ (talk) 14:20, 26 November 2013 (EST)
- Honestly I am not 100% sure. I am not really a revolver expert, but if you google Pietta revolver a real life version of the one ingame comes up. I think we need a specialist here to identify it properly. -hchris
The 'Quartermain Pietta' appears to be a Remington 1858 with a standard 8-inch barrel and an interesting 'tri-tone' mixture of parts including a brass frame, a blued cylinder, and a worn-out steel-gray barrel; note the shape of the tall front sight, the shape near the front of the frame where it steps down to meet the barrel, and the signature triangular loading lever that stayed in the design until Remington's model 1875 revolver. The screenshots make for interesting assumptions about the reloading process, as the cylinder seems to be flush with the rear of the cylinder, indicating that a cartridge-conversion cylinder is in place, but the right of the frame appears to be completely filled in, thereby denying access to the rear of the cylinder for both the insertion/extraction of cartridges AND the application of percussion caps; basically, unless the reloading animation is that of removing the cylinder (the ease of the process making it an American Civil War favorite), reloading appears to be simply impossible! I have not yet played the game and don't know if it swings open or not, but I do think the game model is interesting.
Boy, video games sure do get my panties in a twist.
By the way, Pietta is an Italian company that makes reproductions of blackpowder firearms, so googling 'Pietta revolver' would definitely turn up pretty much everything from the time period! --ZeoRanger5 (talk) 00:58, 27 November 2013 (EST)
- When you reload the "Pietta" the ingame model simply disappears from the screen for a moment and you cannot see how it is reloaded. So should I update the site and call the revolver the "Remington 1858"? -hchris
Can anybody identify the following (see screenshots on the page)
- What kind of scope is the AVS36 using, is it fictional?
- What kind of scope is the Kar98k using?
- Pietta Revolver, what is it? Here is an additional screenshot.
