Have you heard that this is actually a real GMG or are you guessing? If the latter I highly doubt it is a real GMG, as there is no need for it to be based on a real gun as all firing effects are CG, every other weapon in the film is built from scratch, and I think it only superficially looks like a H&K GMG anyway (it appears too small in that shot, the receiver is a different shape and it has no belt feed). --commando552 (talk) 10:06, 19 September 2013 (EDT)

That profile shot from the BTS scenes image makes me think that if it is based on anything, it is a Mk. 19 rather than a GMG. Note the shape of the front of the feed tray which is just visible in the side shot, along with the square cut out at the bottom front corner of the receiver and an (apparently) left side feed. The barrel is also a similar profile with a step part way down and a similar muzzle device. Lastly a Mk. 19 makes more sense as a GMG has never appeared (to my knowledge) in live action media, whereas Mk. 19s have. I still don't think it is actually a real Mk. 19 though, as it is missing the charging handle on the right side and is less detailed, missing parts like hinges and rivets. My guess is that it was built from a non functional Mk. 19 mock up, or from castings. Does this qualify for a page if it has one weapon which isn't actually a real weapon but just a mock up of one? --commando552 (talk) 16:57, 19 September 2013 (EDT)

It's a borderline, but I will allow this one with a warning. --Ben41 (talk) 17:30, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
